RVing at the Beach: 5 Reasons to Love Seacliff State Beach

Have you ever dreamed of waking up at the beach? Have you also not wanted to pay a lot to do it?  I know we’ve always wanted to and we got to wake up right at the beach. Twice. We took our Winnie Drop and now the Keystone Outback. You can head 5 miles south of Santa Cruz on the Monterey Bay in Northern California.

Here’s 5 Things We Love About Camping at Seacliff State Beach

1.It’s so affordable for Waterfront Accommodations.

I thought I read the reservation price wrong.  Sea Cliff State Beach was about $35/night. Yes, $35 at the beach and for this view.

2.The Nighttime Ambiance

While we weren’t right on the beach, it was only steps from the beach.  At night, it’s dark but beautiful with the sound of  waves and our campfire.

3. Meals With A View

We love having an outdoor kitchen.  An added bonus is making breakfast outside with a view. It also makes for some conversation starters as people walking by always stop to ask about the kitchen and our setup.

4. Walking Access & The Beach

You can walk along the beach, around the neighboring towns or on the hiking trail.

5. Accommodate Up to 45ft (disclaimer below!)

The bigger full hookup sites accommodate up to 45feet.  The no hookup sites like we did fit up to 35 feet in one Lot and other no hook up spots up to 45feet. It was night time/after hours when we arrived and realized how small that site was.  We took the Winnie Drop before which is way smaller than the Outback.

Our rig BARELY fit!  Keep in mind you need space in front when having a tow vehicle as well.

We had to squeeze our truck next to the rig and not put out our bed slide (we only camped one night so that was OK.) Just to be safe, we probably won’t do that again or make sure we get a bigger spot.
