RV Like You’re In the Caribbean – 10 Reasons to Visit Pirate Cove Resort

· IS THIS REALLY CAMPING? ·

One thing for sure is that the hubby knows how to find a good RV Park and Resort!  He booked an aahhhhmazing stay at Pirate Cove Resort!

This trip was our last RV trip before he was heading into training camp for football.  We knew we wanted something by the water and a place to relax while having some drinks too.  To show how dope this place is we’re giving you the

TOP 10 REASONS TO VISIT PIRATE COVE RESORT

1.It is Caribbean Themed & The Property is Beautiful

When you first pull up you’re greeted by this beautiful sign and waterfall. The sign also has the caption “The California Oasis on the Colorado River.” If that ain’t the truth! Palm trees, sand and pristine grounds are all around you. It feels like a real camping oasis.

The walkways make you feel like you’re walking around some all-inclusive resort in the Dominican or Bahamas.

2. It’s Right On the Colorado River

The back side of the property is nestled along the Colorado River and makes for some beautiful sunrises and sunsets.  It’s also a nice waterway for boats and locals to come by too.

3.Cabin and RV Accommodations

Want to bring the family or friends along who don’t have an RV?  That’s fine too!  There are RV spaces and cabins available for rent.  The cabins overlook the water. I can’t believe this isn’t a luxury hotel somewhere. It’s a camping resort.

4. Luxury Extra-Curricular Activities

Not only can you do your typical extracurricular activities but they offer off-road rentals with plenty trails, boat rentals, water sport rentals, yacht charter and more.  We didn’t take advantage of any but you can see on their site all they offer.

5. Full Restaurant and Bar Overlooking the River

The Beach Grill & Bar sits on the edge of the property and overlooks the river.  Locals even come grab food, drinks and hang out at their boats.  There’s tiki hut tables out on the beach where people can hang out, too.

6.Riverfront + Basic Lot RV Sites

You can book an awesome riverfront spot or there are some spots in the gravel lot areas.  Spaces by the water book up quickly so we had the gravel lot option.  Our spot still had full hook-ups.  We were pretty much the only ones there as everyone else was riverfront.  Next time we plan to book riverfront.

7. Short Drive to Lake Havasu – An Arizona Destination

If you’re not familiar with Lake Havasu, you should get familiar!  It’s a water tourist destination in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

While Pirate Cove is in Needles, CA it’s just a short drive from the AZ border.  In Lake Havasu, we grabbed some food and walked around the cove where hundreds of boaters dock and party all day. It was unreal and another reason we need to add a boat to our fleet.

8.It Gets Hot in the Summer

There are no words to describe how hot it was.  It was on average 114 degrees during our 3 days at Pirate Cove!  If you’re going in the summer, be prepared and know that being outside all day may not even be possible.

9. Historic Route 66

You’ve probably heard of the Historic Route 66 and maybe you haven’t.  But, it’s one of the most famous highways in the country.  We took a ride down the desert roads on the really old part of Historic 66.  The people who live back there are most certainly “off the grid” in our terms.  We even saw a donkey go up to a car in their “town”.

When headed back from (or to)  Historic Route 66, be sure to grab dinner at the famous Wagon Wheel Restaurant.

10.Great Cost for What You Get!

Make no mistake it’s not your $35/$40 a night stay but it did come in at $90/night.  Some might think we’re crazy for that but we did want to feel like we were really away on luxury vacation while camping too. Guess that makes it glamping 🙂

Book A Stay At Pirate Cove

We highly recommend booking at Pirate Cove for families or couples.  It has something for everyone and with a Caribbean twist!
