Paso Robles, CA- Planning An Anniversary RV Getaway

· Let's Celebrate In A New Way ·

Anniversaries are always a time to celebrate!  For our 2-year last year, Will decided to do something unique and take the RV on a trip.  Hey, I’m down…

We left on Friday to head to Paso Robles, CA.  Unfamiliar with Paso Robles? Think Napa/ Sonoma but mid-California vs Northern California.

Wine Country RV Resort Arrival

The drive was about 3 hours and we arrived at the Wine Country RV Resort. The Resort was a luxury RV resort in the heart of mid-California wineries.  It felt like a nice hotel but an RV Resort.  You’ll find well manicured property mixed with nicely paved sites, a bar looking area in the middle, an outdoor amphitheater, a hot tub, and much more.

We get to the office and check-in and head up the hill to our spot.  On the way up to our spot, I see there’s a landscaped area in the middle of the upper area, it’s a hot tub! I’m sitting there like omg WHY DID WE NOT RV SOONER!

Finding Our RV Spot

Upon getting to the spot, we do our routine of unpacking, getting levelers down, the slides out, tables and grill set up, etc.  Then we walk around because I still can’t believe I’m at an RV Resort.

Wait, is that a Bar at the RV Resort??

We always take a stroll around the RV Park to see all it has to offer. We walk down the hill and there’s A BAR area.

Yes, a spot that is fenced in that has corn hole setup, tables, chairs, tv’s and bar to order drinks. We grab some drinks, end up meeting some friends and all partake in some games of corn hole.  It still amazes me how nice this community really is.

After hanging out for a couple hours, we headed “home” around 11pm (you know RV quiet hours).  We settled in and got ready for the next day.

DAY 2

Castle Bound

Will tells me that we have to leave at 9am to head to our destination for the day.  I have no clue where we’re going.  We hop in the truck and head out, arriving to this parking lot where we have to take a shuttle.  The shuttle is heading to Hearst Castle, OMG! I was about to go to a castle.

We ride the shuttle for about 10 minutes and arrive at one of the prettiest places, ever.  Talk about magical.

We get off the shuttle and take the tour package that we signed up for.  Walking around this place, you could feel the history and what it must’ve been like to party here.

After the tour, we took some obligatory photos and headed back on the shuttle.

Dinner Downtown Paso Robles

We arrived back to the car and headed to the RV Resort.  Although we were in wine country, I really wanted margarita’s. Yeah I know, what in the world?

We stopped in downtown Paso Robles at Fish Gaucho to grab dinner and margarita’s.  It was DELICIOUS!

Wrapping Up A New Anniversary Adventure

With our bellies full, we were headed back to the RV Resort.  We relaxed at our camp site with a bonfire and celebrated our new lifestyle and our marriage.

Sunday morning we checked out and headed back home. This would be our first RV trip to celebrate our anniversary but I’m sure not our last. And, we will definitely keep this one on the list!  You should add Wine Country RV Resort to your list too.

Would you ever take your RV on a wedding anniversary trip?! We’d love to know.

Create. Dope. Adventures.
